Musee Picasso

On Monday, my art history class went on a field trip to one of my favorite neighborhoods - Le Marais - to visit the Picasso Museum. The museum itself does not have a lot of the famous paintings by Picasso, but they do have the most expansive collection of his art (from when he was a child to a few years before he died). It fully showed his evolution as an artist and the periods he went through to create the masterpieces you can find in Madrid, New York, etc. Though it was yet another miserable day due to the pouring rain and cold wind, it was hard not to be happy when wandering in this quaint neighborhood and getting to see Picasso's work.

Ancient architecture frames a local park (it had cloudy black stains all over as if it had been on fire).

The other side of the park was well manicured and faced an old home that's now a library.

Musee Picasso. Look closely and on the left there is a LARGE mirror that makes it seem that the building exactly matches the other side (it's an art installation by another artist).
Though it's an old "Hotel Particulaire" (mansion) built in the 1650's, they put colored glass squares in the windows to contrast the classic architecture - a fitting motif for Picasso.
