So as I've become a regular on the metro I want to share with you something you most likely will experience if you ride the Paris metro more than one time: The Metro Talent Show (as I like to call it)
It basically consists of men (one to a max of three) that randomly jump into a metro car and start playing music for those on board. I have noticed a variety in the songs - from the ever popular La Vie En Rose to the not french what-so-ever Cielito Lindo - and instruments - violins, accordions, cellos, bases, guitars, and even a boom box with a microphone where the man just raps incoherent verses.
It's at the same time amusing and annoying since you will probably happen upon these spectacles a few times and have the hear the same extended version of a song. However, it's always nice to see the reaction from tourists who are caught completely off guard.
But sometimes even I find it romantic and enchanting when I cross the river on the metro, with the sparkling Eiffel Tour reflecting off it's calm waters, and the musician is playing (you guessed it) La Vie En Rose...
