Au Revoir!

The Villeroy house in full bloom.

The roses climbing up to my bathroom window.

The grass and flowers popping up everywhere.

Ivy and other plants make it an amazingly green pathway out into the street.

My last day in Paris was quite rushed since I left at 9am and had arrived from Greece late the night before. However, it was just enough time to say goodbye to my familiar neighborhood and eat one last Parisian meal - breakfast - with my host parents. Overall this was an amazing opportunity and I know I am very lucky to have had experienced it. Thank you all for following and supporting me throughout the past 4 months!

*Stay tuned because coming the week of June 8th I'm off to "The Big Apple" for my summer internship with L'Oreal: Giorgio Armani Beauty Team and I'm sure New York City has plenty to offer!*

Last Night In Heraklion

Alissa and me in front of a church with great glass work windows and dome.

Famous Heraklion port with ancient walls and lookout still intact.

Free dessert - fresh cherries, oranges, baklava, and other grecian specialties including Raki.

Waterfront view from our bungalow in the morning on my last day :(

Out On The Water

Alissa and Rachel - kind've caught Alissa off guard but it's funny.

View of the hotel bungalows from the Mediterranean Sea

Soaking up the sun while using each other as a head rest.

Leslie and me at the font of the boat (yes, my arm is not quite straight).

Last Hurrah!

Flying over the majestic mountains in Italy.

The beds on the beach in the background and my travel friends Leslie and Rachel Klein.

Dinner at sunset :)

Fading sunlight and calm waters.

One of the places I wanted to visit before heading back home was Greece, and since my flight home wasn't until 6 days after the program ended, I planned a trip with Leslie to Crete. We had this booked since mid March and it always seemed so far away, but there we were and we knew that this would be the last experience we would have in Europe. Later, Rachel Klein and Alissa joined our plans and the foursome enjoyed the sun and sand for a good 5 days.

Eiffel Tower Picnic Goodbye

Beautiful rose bush blooming at my Passy Metro stop.

The Prague travel group plus 2 - Alice and Chloe = 10 for a gourmet picnic.

And of course it sparkles right at sundown.

When we got back from Prague we had 4 days left in Paris, two which had to be spent working on our internship reports and presentations. Therefore, we took advantage of one of our nights and organized a picnic at the foot of the Eiffel Tower (I know, we live a hard life). Jihane and I brought the fresh bread (still warm from the baker's oven!); Leslie, Rachel Klein, Chloe and Alice brought gourmet cheeses and chocolate toffee matzoh; and the rest of the crew brought fruit and wine to wrap up all the essentials of a french snack.

Adventures in Prague

Joining the memorial for victims of communism.

My paddle-boat partners Elton and Jihane.

Leslie, Rachel Klein and Alissa on the other boat at sunset.

The Imagine Wall in dedication to John Lennon after his death (it was somewhat ruined by the face but still an exciting monument).

Prague

Leslie and me matching unintentionally - orange-red top, dark blue jeans, and black leather purses.

Taking a break on the shore.

Our fancy lunch right at Kampa on the water with the Charles Bridge right in front!

Posing by the castle guard after the little girl in front made him laugh by touching his coat.

Prague Weekend (Second Time Around)

The 7 girls (and one boy taking the picture) who went.

A typical scene of how things got done - everyone breaks off and does their own thing and 30 min later we're off to another place.

My 7 travel partners overlooking the river.

Eating a light breakfast at the local market to save room before a gourmet lunch.

So I know this is long overdue but I would still like to share these pictures - especially now that I have time since I am back home! I went o Prague for a second time the weekend of April 30-May 3rd since there was a long weekend due to the French "Labor Day". There were 8 of us in total so it was a lot of fun to travel with a big bunch of people (and surprisingly not stressful!). I mainly didn't take scenic pictures, but more of group shots so I hope you enjoy my friends: Elton (the only boy), Jihane, Leslie, Rachel Klein, Rachel Lesage, Steph, and Alissa.

Lunch Chez Carette

View of the Salon and the exotic flower on the table.

My most amazing dessert in Paris: fresh cinnamon roll and hot chocolate.

Place Trocadero

Small bird trapped in my house

I know I have been absent from the blog for a week or so but it's been a crazy last few days I've had in Paris and I've had to take advantage of all the time I have left. One day I got out of work early before a meeting at BU and I decided to go out and treat myself to lunch at Carette - a "luxury" pastry shop in the 16th district in Place Trocadero. It was packed at lunch time and I got a table in the back. I ate a traditional quiche - which was THE best quiche I have ever had (the perfect fluffiness, flakiness of the crust, and temperature). I then topped it off with a roll and chocolate chaud (picture above). This place definitely made my "must" list if you ever get to go to Paris.

I am off today to Greece and I will have to make a lot of retroactive posts so that I can fill you in on my 2nd trip to Prague with my friends and my last week in Paris - and then of course Greece at the end!

Journee With Co-workers

Venue of the fashion show for the Paris fashion design school Chardon Savard.

Lego shoes, hot pink leggings and a mishmash of patterns on top (a sign of things to come?!).

At a "soiree privee" at Sephora with free pastries, wine, beauty samples and 20% discount!

Last week my co-workers invited me to some parties for PR offices. The first was a fashion show for a local design school. It was basically teams from 4-20 students that had to pick a themeand design 1-2 pieces per person around that theme (i.e. futuristic, neon, blue, etc). A little crazy most of the time but it was a good experience. Directly from there I went to Sephora with my plus one Jihane to get free things and enjoy a break off of a long work day.
