Final Day in Strasbourg

At dusk on the "commerce" bridge that leads to a large shopping mall - les Halles.

Outside of the train station (modern glass bubble surrounds the antique and historical inside).

As I finish these posts about Strasbourg, I feel like I barely have time to take a break before my next trip comes up! I'm leaving for Prague tomorrow with 7 friends and its supposed to be high 60s and sunny for this long weekend. Though I went briefly with my family, I feel that this time around I'll really get to see the city and fully enjoy it...stay tuned!

Waterfront Property

Lilac covered passageway into an island restaurant.

Old entrance into the city by boat (with twin guard towers on the sides of the bridge).

St. Paul's Church from the river boat cruise.

Amazing old mansion that now serves as the international school in Strasbourg.

Like Venice, Amsterdam and Bruges, Strasbourg lives off the canals that break up the city. Overall it made for beautiful sightseeing everywhere.

Sights Aroung Strasbourg

Place de la Republique with Palais du Rhin in the background.

Unique fountain on the side of Place de la Republique.

One of the main shopping streets where only the tram and pedestrians can go.

In the old town, each restaurant has their "antique" banner with flowers versus the neon signs we're all used to.

Strasbourg Churches

St. Paul's Church view from one of the canals.

Amazing cathedral - so large it doesn't fit in one picture.

Inside of the cathedral.

Main tourist street with the cathedral as the background.

L'Orangerie Park

Sitting at the courtyard of someone's old mansion that is now the park offices.

Beautiful and large peacock!

Goats running around to eat the corn - you can see the baby jumping in the front :)

The road alongside the park that houses all the embassies.

Right by the European Union office park there is a vast park called L'Orangerie that has woodlands, a public zoo, a playground, a fountain and historical buildings and statues.

Strasbourg Botanical Gardens

Similar to the trees around Paris but these had orange in the middle.

The flowers looked like the leaves except white and thinner.

TONS of tiny white flowers in bunches.
