Buffet style tables with a personal crepe chef ready to make whatever your heart (or stomach) desires!
My complimentary manicure in Chanel Vendetta (I tried to get the sun to shine on them so you could tell that they aren't really black, just a deep purple/violet...tres chic!)
Last Thursday and Friday my workplace hosted an even called Portes Ouvertes (Open Doors). Every fashion PR firm does this each season to show all journalists and stylists the coming season's collections - Fall/Winter 2009-2010 in this case. As an intern I wasn't really sure what I was going to be doing since I doubted I would be chatting it up with stylists from Cosmo, L'Express Styles or Glamour. I did help with cleaning and preparing all the clothing racks and making sure all was presentable.
On jour J (a French phrase to mean THE day of a big event) I realized the office had hired a crepe chef for the entire day, and that we were allowed to ask for whatever we wanted food wise from her thoughout the entire work day - dangerous! Also, on Thursday they had hired a manicurist from the prestigious salon - David Mallett - QG represents. It turns out she is the IT manicure lady for all Paris fashion shows (including Balenciaga, YSL, Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld...you name it!)
I did not expect to get one from her but since no one had arrived 30 mintues into the event, I was volunteered by one of my bosses to be the first one! Of course I did not resist :)
So as it turns out, in the two days I had 9 crepes, got my nails done and got to mingle with top fashionistas of Paris. Not a bad two days at "work"!
