2nd Stop: Bruges (Belgium)

By one of the canals near the hotel.

Beautiful canals lined with hotels and restaurants.

The exclusive Hotel Martin's Orangerie's outdoor deck.

Inside Martin's Orangerie - tres luxe!

We started our excursion outside of Paris in Bruges, Belgium - a small, but VERY well off, town because it once was the luxury capital of Europe (in the 1400s or so). It was very cold, cloudy and windy when we went, but the city didn't lose its charm! We also had the luxury of staying at Martin's Orangerie where the breakfast includes a spread of cheeses, quiche, fresh bread, fresh juices, salmon, eggs, pancakes, coffee, fruit, yogurt, granola ... AND Moet champagne! On top of it, actual royalty stays there when they visit. Talk about posh!
